A man named Jason Gasparik traveled to Charlotte, North Carolina on a Friday night to visit a buddy. On his way home, he noticed something by the side of the road and this prompted him to pull over.
Gasparik said that he noticed that a car had stopped and then there was a person that was running through a lawn in the area. After that, he noticed that a dog was there. He observed that the animal ran around aimlessly and it looked afraid and confused.
Gasparik chose to follow the dog. However, a 70-pound Labrador will not simply let down its guard.
Moments thereafter, a cop and another car were already collaborating to attempt to rescue the dog. However, even a delectable reward was insufficient to allure the lost canine.
Gasparik shared that he thought that if he jogged around, the dog will follow him. Eventually, the dog did just that and it was fun for the animal though she still seemed nervous.
After a few laps, the dog seemed to have consumed its energy and just sat down. That was the very moment that Gasparik secured the dog by holding on to its scruff.
The dog, eventually identified as Roxy, was scanned and microchipped at the 24-hour veterinarian clinic. The information, however, was not registered to her owner. As a result, Gasparik needed to find some way to assist Roxy in returning home.
Gasparik posted a Facebook post upon his return home. He even promoted his post with PawBoost in order to attract a larger audience.
Roxy, while staying with Gasparik, desired cuddles with him. She leaped onto the bed, curled up next to her savior, and licked Gasparik’s face with wet, sloppy kisses.
Gasparik attempted to locate Roxy’s owner through old school methods the next day. He fashioned a massive signboard from an old box. He then proceeded to the location where Roxy was discovered.
At first, people were skeptical, believing that everything was a scam. Nothing, however, just stopped Gasparik in his mission.
Gasparik returned to the same location the following morning with his homemade sign. He was fortunate that he did not have to wait long that day. He received a message stating that Roxy’s owner has been located. They made contact and arranged to meet.
The good Samaritan said that when Roxy’s owner, Ed, arrived in his truck, he immediately shouted, “Roxy Girl!” The dog immediately recognized him and wagged her tail. They were both relieved to be together again.
