A concerned citizen was strolling around his neighborhood when he heard a small puppy crying for help. The man decided to investigate the noise and was shocked to find the animal confined in a small birdcage.
The good Samaritan contacted The Dog Rescue Shelter, a Mladenovac, Serbia-based animal rescue organization, for further assistance. The owner of the animal shelter raced to the puppy’s location in order to save it.
The owner of the rescue organization arrived at the place and observed how miserable the dog was in the little cage. The puppy was abandoned, filthy, and coated in her own feces. It seemed like the animal hadn’t been allowed to go out of the enclosure for a long time already.
The owner of the shelter knocked on the fence that served as a makeshift gate, hoping someone would answer, but no one did. The man then entered the residence and knocked again on the front door to request permission to rescue the dog, but no one answered like before.
The rescuer proceeded to remove the puppy from the tiny birdcage after determining that no one was present on the property. The puppy began wagging her tail as soon as she was removed from the cage and appeared so relieved to have been rescued.
The founder of the rescue organization drove the filthy puppy to the facility, where she was given a warm bath because she was covered in her own feces. The facility owner opted to foster the dog, whom she named Mini.
It took the shelter owner some time to find Mini her forever home and family. However, Mini was eventually adopted a few months after being rescued from horrible living conditions, and she no longer fears being confined to a tiny birdcage for the remainder of her life.
