Weighing only three pounds, Norbert is too small that he can fit into a human’s palm. But despite his small size and light weight, he has a heart that is full of love and kindness. Together with his human named Julie, Norbert can put a smile into a lonely person’s face for sure.
Norbert was barely four months old when Julie adopted him. He was too small and looked very fragile, so it was a bit challenging to find a center that can accommodate him. At that time, Julie was searching for a dog to adopt, and she was glad to see Norbert via Pet Finder.
Julie’s interest with Norbert grew when she learned that Norbert is a mixed breed of Yorkshire Terrier and Chihuahua, which suits his size and physical appearance. Her curiosity grew further when she was told that Norbert might be of a different breed. Julie was stunned, and at the back of her mind, she knew that it does not matter whatever breed Norbert is; she will still love him dearly.
As soon as she adopted Norbert, Julie already saw the dog’s ability to brighten other people’s faces. The good thing is Norbert does not have to do anything special to make people happy. Just being around different people, he can turn a cloudy day to a bright one. Because of his positive demeanor, a lot of people advised Julie to turn him into a therapy dog.
Julie entertained the idea and researched about it. After some time, she started training with Norbert and eventually got certified as a dog therapy duo. Since then, they have spread happiness, love, and care to many people in their community.
Julie and Norbert have spent over a decade of working as a dog therapy team. They have helped a lot of people suffering from depression and anxiety. Their partnership has brought a lot of joy and happiness all over Los Angeles, and they received recognition for the positivity they bring to everyone they meet.
