A woman from Tucson just accomplished what seemed unachievable. The unidentified woman’s dog slipped into a canal while she was working alongside it, close to Yuma.
When she realised her dog was having trouble getting back on dry land, the Arizona lady plunged into the canal to save her furry friend. However, this soon became a battle for their lives for 18 hours.

She held on to a tree for 18 hours straight as the strong current pulled at her worn-out body. The fact that she managed to survive while also clinging to her 55-pound dog is astounding.
Fortunately, a train conductor noticed the woman in trouble as he drove past the canal and made an emergency call.
A post on the Yuma County Sheriff’s Office’s Facebook page states that the two were saved on Wednesday after dispatch received a report at around Midday about “a person that seemed to be in danger” in the Yuma canal.
The first person on the scene, Sergeant Juan Salcido, adds, “The determination to survive is what makes this a remarkable narrative.” He mentioned that “her body told the story of her never-ending struggle.” “She had cuts on her legs and arms and suffered a sunburn. She appeared so worn out that she couldn’t stand up straight.”
