Meadow, the dog, was found safe after the owner walked 95 miles and searched for 12 days. The dog went missing on 26th December 2019, and his owner found him on the afternoon of Tuesday, 7th January 2020.

How he got lost
A dog owner searched for his missing dog for twelve days and walked 95 miles before finding him. Meadow disappeared on 26th Dec but safely found on Tuesday 7th Jan by Lauren Johnson, her owner. Both were on a trip to visit the owner’s sister in Birmingham, Homewood, on Christmas when the dog ran away. However, Johnson never lost hope in search of her 8-year-old Labrador mix.

The locals joined hands to search for the missing dog, and in the 12 days of search, they were able to recover other dogs. However, Meadow wasn’t among the other rescued dogs. His owner used unconventional methods such as scent lures to entice the dog back to Homewood. Furthermore, she even contracted dog trackers from another state to help in the search.
However, the search was still futile, and Johnson had no choice but to return to Atlanta and report to work on Monday. Yet, she didn’t know that her efforts would bear fruits sooner than later. A resident spotted Meadow on Birmingham’s Valley Avenue on Monday evening, and then, the volunteers tracked him down on Tuesday.
Meadow’s appearance
Johnson received the photo confirmation on Tuesday, and she came back to Birmingham the same afternoon. She went to the Valley Avenue apartment and waited to reunite with her lovely dog. When Meadow saw her owner, he ran towards her, and they were both happy to see each other.

The search was finally over. Johnson took Meadow for a check-up, whereby the vet found only tick bites and some minor cuts on the dog. Meadows’s owner was happy and thankful to all the people who came out to help in the search. Finally, Meadow and his owner rejoined for a drive back to their home in Atlanta. What a happy ending!
