A dog named Pharaoh spent his life in the streets of South L.A. He was born to a stray momma dog and grew up without a home. And while he struggled so much, he managed to survive.
Pharaoh fended for himself for a very long time. He ate food scraps from the garbage and slept on the cold pavement at night. He never had a family so he was never used to being around people, let alone being touched by them.

For ten long years, the dog lived an incredibly onerous life. But that was until a Good Samaritan contacted the local rescue organization known as Hope For Paws. He had no idea but it signaled a completely new beginning for him.
Rescue partners Lisa Arturo and JoAnn Wiltz were the ones who responded to the scene. Once they spotted Pharaoh, they offered him some food to try and gain his trust. But when they saw his eyes were cloudy, they weren’t sure if he even saw them or the food they tossed on the ground.

Pretty quickly, the rescuers determined the dog was completely blind. They took it to their advantage and waited for the right opportunity to catch him. And after several minutes of chasing after the dog, Lisa successfully snared Pharaoh.
The next moment was full of chaos but the rescuers knew it would be all worth it. They quickly transferred the senior dog into a cage and waited for him to relax before heading out to the hospital. And after much-needed vet care, they transported him to his foster home with Frosted Faces Foundation, a senior animal advocate and rescue group.

The senior dog needed to learn a lot of things before he was put up for adoption. But he did great progress and he surprised his rescuers and foster friends. He got along with people just fine, and while he was not too interested with other dogs because of his age, he was perfectly fine having them around.
Pharaoh is now 15 years old and unlike before, he has a family. He enjoys his daily stroll in his new home and spends the remainder of his day snoozing.
