Finding a reliable, caring and kind-hearted Childminder is a challenge most parents face. The decision is usually based on recommendation, instinct, trust and background digging.
First-time parents, Benjamin and Hope Jordan needed a babysitter. They did a thorough check on a 22-year-old lady called Alexis Khan. She ticked all the boxes, and they hired her. Alexis took care of baby Finn plus the family dog. Everything was going well at first.

According to Benjamin, to WCSC, Killian, their Labrador Retriever – German Shepherd mix, had always been a loving and friendly dog even around strangers. But, five months into Khan looking after their baby, the couple began to notice, their dog’s behaviour had changed towards her.

Whenever she walks into the house, Killian would start growling at her, trying to stop her from getting to the baby. Finn’s parents even tried to stop the dog from getting too close to attacking her.
Benjamin and Hope began to wonder why their canine friend was behaving in that manner towards the babysitter and desperately needed an answer.
Never Come Between A Baby And His Dog
Mum Hope suggested they put their iPhone under the settee with the hope of catching whatever was happening in the house, in their absence. They left for work. They speculated that Khan was probably being aggressive towards Killian, which would be wrong.
Little did they know that this angelic looking girl was a wolf in a sheep’s skin! She was being violent towards their helpless, defenceless baby boy, Finn! They discovered this horrific behaviour through their secret iPhone recording.
In the recording, Benjamin narrated, “It started with cussing,”. “Then you hear slap noises and his crying changes from a distress cry to a pain cry. I just wanted to reach through the audiotape, go back in time and just grab him up.”
The distressed parents heard what sounded like Alexis shaking the baby, which could have either permanently damaged his brain or killed him. Benjamin expressed in disbelief how sad it was to know that for five months, they had given their baby to a monster, and not knowing what was going on in their house that day.

The Jordans trusted Khan and never would have thought in a million years she would be abusing their 7-months baby son for almost five months, before catching her out. Thanks to Killian, who witnessed it all and had to do something about it.

Khan is now paying the price for her evil deeds in prison. She pleaded guilty to assault and battery in a Charleston Circuit Court. She must remain there for 1 to 3 years but will be up for parole in 1 year. Khan’s name will stay on a child abuse registry upon release.
Benjamin encourages other families to learn from their story, be attentive to what their family pet is conveying and never to ignore any sign of their children being in danger.
