When one decides to own a dog, it should be for better and for worse. It is responsibility that must be taken very seriously.
Unfortunately, man’s best friends are suffering abuse worldwide from the very people who once loved and cared for them. Many factors cause some people to abandon their canine friends.
For example, financial difficulties, dogs with behavioural problems which most likely is not the dog’s fault as it should have received training from a very young age. Change of circumstances such as marriage breakdown, ill health or death of the owner; also play big roles.
One cold, winter day, a Dog Rescue Centre in Mladenovac, Serbia received a call about an abandoned dog that was seen beside a regional road. The Centre is a non-profit, non-governmental rescue organisation located in Mladenovac and is one of few Serbia’s largest no-kill animal shelters.
Mama Leaves Puppies In The Cold Pipe To Ask For Help

The person told them, the dog comes out when it hears or sees someone passing by then goes back to the pipe. Some of those pipes were buried in snow, but there was one that wasn’t. When the team finally located the uncovered pipe, they went as close as possible and whispered to see if the dog could come out.
Mama Dog Responding To The Call

The mama pooch immediately appeared and ran straight to the rescuer. It was a clear indication that she needed help and trusted this person completely. The man shined his torch through the pipe and couldn’t believe what he saw! Mama had her puppies in there.

He allowed the mama dog to go back to her puppies, then call her back again. This time, his colleague helped take the dog to their van and placed her in a warm, dry, clean kennel, making her comfortable. He then went into the pipe and got the three puppies out; one female and two males; and took them to mum.

When they finally got back to the Shelter, it was late evening, but the welcome they received from the resident dogs was heart-warming! The mama dog was tired and hungry and not in good health condition as one would expect of an abandoned dog, but the Dog Shelter staff met all their needs.

Thanks to the Dog Rescue Shelter who are doing such marvellous jobs, giving abandoned, unloved dogs a second chance.
