When we hear the word Dalmatian, we immediately think of the mid-sized spotted dogs we often see in fire stations. Well, that and Cruella De Vil a.k.a. the old lady obsessed with fur coats in Disney’s 101 Dalmatians. These pups are sweet, smart, playful, and are famously known for the spots that are scattered all over their bodies.
These spotted darlings used to work as carriage dogs back in the day. This just might be the reason why they can easily be trained to become watch dogs. They’re gentle enough to be around children, and energetic enough to play with and run after their tiny human friends.
Dalmatians rank high on the list of breeds people want to have as pets, and that’s exactly what Lexi Smith did. What she didn’t realize was the spotted fur ball would change her life forever.

The right spot
It was in 2018 when Smith met Wiley. She chose him from a litter of puppies from Oklahoma. He stood out from his siblings because of the heart placed right in the middle of his nose. That was also the reason why Smith decided to welcome him into her home.
Smith picked the perfect day to get Wiley, too! She had him transported to Colorado on St. Patrick’s day that year.
There’s something about Wiley
Wiley may have an eye-catching mark, but that’s not the only reason why a lot of people are smitten by him. He’s playful, energetic, loyal, intelligent and lovable. He also enjoys hanging out with Tucker, his canine best friend.
Both pups like running into the wild, diving into the pool for a swim, and going on car rides. They also do almost all of their daily activities together. Smith would often see them eating, bathing, playing, and sleeping together. They’ve forged such a strong bond with each other; they see each other as brothers.
