Luke the dog recently received Valentine’s Day party from Battersea Dogs & Cats Home, a California animal rescue shelter.
Luke was five years old when he first came to the shelter as a stray. Although Luke has made new friends at the shelter, he still hasn’t found an adopter.

This is mostly because he remains shy when meeting new people. As a way to help make him less shy, the shelter threw a special Valentine’s Day party for all of their animals. Unfortunately, no one showed up to meet Luke at the event, and now he’s still searching for love.

Michelle Bevan, manager of Battersea Dogs & Cats Home, says Valentine’s Day is a great opportunity to express your love and great appreciation for your loved ones. This is why she feels bad for Luke, who will not have anybody to spend the day with after nobody comes to date him. Luckily, Battersea staff are on hand to give them plenty of love and affection instead.

Luke is a large dog who can be insecure and scared, especially when building relationships with other dogs. He would therefore like to live as the only dog in a household with committed people who’re willing to help him build up his confidence. Although he looks like a big dog, he is just a big softie and enjoys nothing more than cuddling with his favorite people and stuffed toys.

Luke is a friendly, affectionate dog with a sweet personality. He is much happier in quieter environments and loves to take walks in nature. He’s also dealing with some health issues, but with the right diet and some extra attention from his pet parent, Luke will be healthy and happy. Hopefully, someone will love him for the big softie that he truly is and give him the love that he deserves.
