Dog Gets Lost In The Forest But Rescue Group Finds Another One

Dog Gets Lost In The Forest But Rescue Group Finds Another One

Milly Jones August 25, 2020

Dogs are wholly dependent on humans to feed, groom and give them a home. Unlike cats, they can hardly survive on their own. One unusual and resilient dog survived against all the odds.

A dog got lost in the Tonto National Forest, and Sky Sanctuary Rescue workers were called to help find him. As they searched through the forest, they came across a horse carcass; and to their amazement, found a dog feeding on it! It was a completely different dog from the one they went out to look for.

It seemed like the dog had been out there for approximately three months.
They quickly got to work as a team to ensure they rescued the pup and took her back with them to the animal shelter, for proper care. The dog was nervous seeing all those people, but sweet.

Feeding On A Horse’ Carcass Saved The Dog’s Life

It became apparent to them that the pup was a true survivor. Had it not fed on the horse carcass, it wouldn’t have lived to see the rescue day. Unfortunately, they did not find any microchip on her, making it impossible to locate her owner.

The dog is otherwise in good shape, friendly and interested in humans. The rescuers believed she must have had a human owner from the way she was wagging her tail and being affectionate by licking them occasionally.

They are taking good care of her, teaching her how to socialise in preparation to find her a new home. She needs a dog lover who can lavish her with all the attention and love she deserves.

However, the search for the other dog continues as it is still out there in the wild.
Please SHARE this story to express your happiness that this pup has a chance of getting a new home.
