Menino is a loyal dog that lives alone with his owner in Brazil. One day, both of them went for a drive, and they got involved in a terrible car accident. The dog survived and had only minor injuries, but his owner wasn’t as fortunate. He was killed almost immediately.
After the incident, the car wreck was removed from the accident site. Nobody bothered to take the dog, and he had nowhere to go. He stayed inside the vehicle even as it got towed to a storage yard. His owner’s next of kin were informed about his survival.
And although they promised to get him, no one did. He lived inside the car wreck for the next four months, with no one caring for him. No one even bothered to see how he was doing.
A new friend
That all changed when a new security guard was assigned to look after the yard. The new caretaker was a man named David Guimarães Santos. He saw the dog living inside the wreck, and he was moved by the pet’s loyalty to his owner.
As the days passed, the new guard was able to gain the dog’s trust. The kind man was feeding the pooch and keeping him company. A few short weeks later, the two became close friends.
A new home
Although he was still technically homeless, life was getting better for Menino. He at least had a friend now. But then, after being the guard of the yard for approximately six months, David was stationed to another location. That meant that the dog would be alone again.
David couldn’t bear to think about that happening. So with the approval of his family, he took Menino home and made him a permanent member of their home. It took 10 months of being alone before the dog finally had his forever home. And it was all worth it.
He now lives happily with humans once again.
