A dog named Luna is completely devoted to her hedgehog toys. She adores and cherishes everything, whether large or small, old or new. However, she, like any other dog, has a favorite.
Alexa Ferguson is Luna’s fur mom and she said that she has no idea why her pet loves toy hedgehogs. In fact, the dog has around 10 different toy hedgehogs and they all come in different colors and sizes and Luna is quite fond of all of them.
Luna was homeless prior to being the proud owner of 10 hedgehog toys. She walked from street to street in San Bernardino, California, fending for herself. An animal control officer discovered her and transported her to a nearby shelter. The shelter staff waited, but no one claimed or adopted Luna, and she was eventually placed on the kill list.
Fortunately, Luna was rescued and placed in foster care in Vancouver by RainCost Dog Rescue Society, a Canadian rescue organization.
Luna was transported to Ferguson’s house in Victoria in June 2017. And the arrangement was made on a foster-to-adopt basis, as Ferguson has been looking for a dog of her own for some time already. And she was quick to pick up on Luna’s idiosyncrasies.
Ferguson said that it was possible that Luna had stayed in a crate or an enclosed area when she still lived with another owner. She also said that when she went out for a walk with Luna, the dog’s paws started to bleed as they were really tender.
It is interesting to note that Luna was terrified of the ocean as well as the lovely forest that surrounds their home in British Columbia. Everything new was frightening to her.
Ferguson thought of purchasing Luna her very first toy — a hedgehog. She said that she believed that the dog didn’t have any toys before and that is why Luna became quite infatuated with her first toy as soon as she received it. Ferguson also said that Luna has a lot of other toys but she isn’t interested in them.
Luna grew to like the outdoors as the days passed. She enjoys swimming in the sea and hiking in the forest. However, one thing that has remained constant is her affection for her plush hedgehog buddies.
