When the kitchen of the Atlanta-based W-Underdogs Shelter caught fire, a courageous individual, Keith Walker, acted immediately. Keith is a homeless man and he rushed into a blazing animal shelter to rescue the trapped dogs and cats without any hesitation.
The 53-year-old man told a prominent news station that he was apprehensive and terrified to enter the burning facility because of the thick smoke. But he said, he believed God had placed him at that location at that time to save the animals. Keith was able to save all of the shelter’s animals, including all the dogs and cats.
Keith said that if you can love a dog, you can love everybody in the world. It turns out, he has a dog that he considers his best friend. His dog inspired him to rescue and save the animals from the burning shelter.
The shelter congratulated Keith on Instagram, even referring to him as a guardian angel, because that is exactly what he was to the animals at the shelter! In addition, W-Underdogs praised the people who had rushed to help.
Fortunately, W-Underdogs was able to relocate a week after the disaster. This meant that the dogs and cats were already starting to adjust to their new environment.
The founder of W-Underdogs, Gracie Hamlin, referred to Keith as a guardian angel. She even stated that the firefighters were unwilling to interact with the animals. While the fire department contacted the animal control agency for assistance, Keith braved the flames to rescue the cats and dogs.
Keith and Gracie know each other, as Keith’s dog was occasionally permitted to sleep at the shelter. When Keith was about to pick up his pet from the shelter, he noticed the fire, which brought out his greatest qualities.
Good job, Keith! May you be blessed for all the good things that you have done.
