Life can be difficult and frightening for homeless dogs. Many of them face numerous hazards from living on the streets, which could endanger their lives. With no one looking after them, stray dogs could also easily get sick.
Most stray dogs that get sick die from their illness. The most heartbreaking part is that many of their illnesses can easily be treated and death could have been avoided. They only need the necessary veterinary treatment and a safe place to live to recover.
A dog named Grey was suffering from mange when he was rescued. Although mange can easily be treated, it can also worsen if left unchecked. Unfortunately for Grey, he was abandoned by his owners after he contracted the disease. Without treatment and a family to take care of him, Grey’s condition worsened.

Grey’s health rapidly deteriorated. His skin was raw from scratching, and his fur started to fall out. However, despite being abandoned by his family, Grey still wandered outside his old home, hoping his family would let him inside. It was truly heartbreaking seeing Grey hoping to be accepted by the family who abandoned him.
Thankfully, an animal rescue organization called Sidewalk Specials heard about Grey’s story. After rescuing Grey from the streets, the rescuers brought him back to their facility where his road to recovery started.
It took some time for Grey to fully recover. He needed multiple medicated baths and several visits to the vet. However, thanks to the dedicated staff and volunteers who looked after him, he became healthy again. Not long after he was rescued, he started growing his beautiful fur back again. Grey also gained weight and was finally happy again.
Grey looked nothing like he did before when he was rescued and it’s all thanks to the dedicated staff and volunteers of Sidewalk Specials. Here’s a link to the video below the screenshots showing Grey’s story and recovery.
