One of the employees at the library in Chesapeake, Virginia saw a puppy being thrown out in the woods. She told her colleagues about it and the library staff decided to do something about it.
Sarah Lundblom was the one who saw the puppy being thrown out. She works at the Russell Memorial Library and she went to work early one day and that was when she saw what happened. A woman was driving her car and stopped near where the library was.
The library was near the woods and that was where the woman tossed out the dog and then drove off. Upon seeing this, Sarah decided to try and take the puppy and keep it safe and warm since the weather was freezing at that time. But the puppy was scared and it hid when Sarah tried to coax it to come to her.
She really wanted to help the dog so she told her colleagues about it. The library staff was keen on helping as well. They want to make sure that the puppy was safe and warm. They did their best to let the dog trust them and, in the end, they were able to take it back to the library.
They gave the puppy a jacket and covered her with it. She was tiny and she was shivering. They also placed her on a piece of carton that had a blanket over it to make sure that she was warm and could be comfortable. They also informed Chesapeake Animal Services about the puppy they found.
The puppy was quite lucky that day. The temperature that day was really cold and it would not have survived if Sarah didn’t come to work early.
Now, the puppy is ready for adoption. The Chesapeake Animal Services are just waiting for someone to come forward and adopt the dog.
