News shows can often make us feel bad as they talk about crimes, price hikes, and other stories that may negatively affect people. Hence, some local news shows in the Philippines feature dog stories to help lighten up the mood of their viewers.
Here are some of the amusing dogs that got featured on local news and caught the public’s attention.
Covid and Corona

These two adorable Shih Tzus were born during the pandemic; hence, they are Covid and Corona. Just when vaccinations started to roll out, they became a couple, and Corona got pregnant with four puppies. Consequently, their fur parents named their puppies after vaccine brands Pfizer, Astra, Zeneca, and Sinovac.

Panda, the pandesal lover
Panda is in love with pandesal, a famous bread in the Philippines. He gets hyper when anyone mentions it. His fur parents posted videos of his reaction to pandesal on TikTok, and several people love him for it.

Choco, the bill shredder
Choco is a loveable dog who loves to chew on expensive things. Her fur mom Jonnah Ulep shared how her dog Choco shredded a ₱1000 bill, equivalent to 20 dollars. Of course, Ulep did not get mad at Choco; instead, she finds the incident to be funny. After all, the dog had no idea that the paper she chewed had any value.

Ulep also reminded everyone to be more patient with their pets. And to also keep our valuables away from our dogs’ reach.
Iya, the cable chewer
Iya’s video in which her fur parent was scolding her went viral. Her mom scolded her because she chewed on their TV cable, so they could no longer watch their TV. While her mom was scolding her, Iya bowed her head as if she was sorry for her actions.

Iya’s hooman sister also came to her aid, and the little girl burst into tears as if telling their mom to stop scolding Iya. In the end, their mom just used social media to ask where she could find a cable replacement.
