Hope For Paws got a message from PAL Rescue about an abandoned dog that had given birth in a narrow cave. She had seven puppies in total.
This vital rescue wouldn’t have been easy without the four rescue agencies working together as a team! Hope For Paws, PAL Rescue, The Animal Rescue Mission and Foxy And The Hounds.
To finish the rescue in the desert, Freddy Kelly, the creator of PAL Rescue, contacted Hope For Paws, which offered to foster the mother and puppies. However, when they arrived, they found a bonus puppy, which they didn’t have a foster home for.

However, after contacting a friend, Shira Astrof, the creator of The Animal Rescue Mission, to check for foster home availability, Shira quickly arranged it. On returning to Los Angeles, they gave the dogs, a warm bath and a full physical exam at CARES.
When the puppies were weaned and no longer needed their mother, Hope For Paws had to separate the family because, taking care of 8 dogs would have been much work for one person. Starshine (the mother) and her offspring continued to be fostered by PAL Rescue.
The rescue team gave the dogs the following names, suggested by their YouTube fans: Fang, Macloud, Norton, Wolfie, Bimba, Janezy and Ronnie. Hope for Paws named their mother, Starshine.
Terri Fox, the founder of Foxy And The Hounds, temporarily fostered: Starshine, Bimba, Janezy and Ronnie. Their partners are fostering Shay at The Animal Rescue Mission.
