A dog has been rescued and brought to safety after two years of living with a pack of coyotes. The 2-year-old stray, now named Wiley (after Wile E. Coyote in the Looney Tunes series), was found living amid coyotes in Kingston, New York.
Locals saw and heard the pack in fields, on private land, and near power lines, according to Nicole Asher, founder of Buddha Dog Rescue & Recovery. They were, however, more surprised to see a dog interacting with the coyotes. Even though he did not seem to be in immediate danger, everyone agreed that it was best to rescue him.

Asher, known for her capture skills, devised a plan after another organization reached out to her. She set out some food to get Wiley to return to the location. The feeding station was close to where Wiley had been spotted and was conveniently accessible. Wiley appeared, accompanied by his coyote pals. It only took two nights to catch him.
Wiley, who had been living in the wild for years, was understandably terrified at first. He was growling and barking. But once free of the trap, the dog instantly warmed up and recognized that Asher was only there to help him. He snuggled up to her and showered her with kisses.
Asher then took Wiley to the vet to get checked. Not only was he thin and covered in dirt, but he also had hundreds of ticks. Additionally, he had Lyme disease and Anaplasmosis.
Asher did her best to find Wiley’s owner. She thoroughly checked internet groups forums to see if someone was searching for him. And because she found nothing, she is now looking for a new home for the loving dog. Asher emphasized that Wiley’s new owners must be patient, experienced, and would keep a close watch on him at all times.
