One day, a woman named Elli Frank received a call from a jogger who had discovered a dog in need of rescue. The caller reported that she was jogging along a trail when a man emerged out of nowhere and dumped a puppy into a dumpster.
Elli went to the location as a volunteer rescuer to pick up the dog. As soon as she saw and greeted the dog, she realized there was an issue.
When she attempted to approach the Pit Bull puppy, the dog displayed normal aggressive behavior. The dog was incessantly barking, her lips were clenched, and she was displaying her teeth.
Elli nevertheless took her in. She stated that out of the hundreds of dogs she has worked with, she had never encountered a little puppy with so much rage. She never got along with other canines and never trusted humans.
Elli understood that Maddie, the puppy, was a nice and sweet dog on the inside. Maddie had faith in Elli, so she was the sweetest dog with her. She simply needed to learn impulse control.
The woman decided to bring Maddie to Suze Cullinan. Suze was an expert dog trainer who directed a dog training facility. They discovered that Maddie had been separated from her mother at a young age and was being trained for dog fighting.
Suze immediately began working with Maddie. Initially, she limited Maddie’s interaction with other dogs to a few minutes. She eventually began to demonstrate some improvement. It was evident that the puppy was attempting to restrain her instincts.
They would also expose her to people she does not know and work to establish her confidence in humanity. They did not give up on her despite the challenges.
Suze devoted a great deal of time and care to Maddie, and after a year, they have made significant progress. In addition, they have created a really deep tie between themselves.
Suze decided to adopt Maddie as a result of this strength. Now, the formerly hostile puppy is a kind, well-trained dog that assists her mother in training other dogs. She has undergone such a remarkable turnaround.
