A Great Dane named Skye and a miniature horse called Hot Fudge Sundae look so similar that many people have a hard time spotting the difference between the two. Their same qualities must be the thing that has turned them into best buddies.

The twinning critters
The two adorable critters have the same height from shoulder to the floor. They even have nearly identical white and brown coloring. From afar, Skye and Hot Fudge Sundae look like twins. Ilonka, the owner of the two animals, often receives this question from her friends: which is which?
According to Ilonka, Skye is much different from her first Great Dane in the sense that Skye has forged a more special relationship with Fudge and her other mini horses. Ilonka adds that Skye always looks forward to hanging out with the Fudge. And when they meet, they will play or hug each other.
Initially, Skye wasn’t so obsessed with other animals. In fact, she was afraid of horses. But now, Skye always wants to be around them, especially the miniature horses like Fudge, since they’re the right size for her.
So, what’s their back story?
Ilonka got Skye in 2020 when she was still a young puppy. The pooch arrived at Ilonka’s home after the passing of the family’s first Great Dane. Skye almost didn’t quite make it because she was the runt of the litter, but she miraculously pulled through.
Fudge, on the other hand, became a member of Ilonka’s family in 2017. What was funny about Fudge’s story was that Ilonka brought her home while her husband was out of town. Ilonka didn’t tell her husband about the horse until his return.
