Sometimes, dogs come into people’s lives by accident. Often, such unexpected dog adoptions end up becoming a life-altering decision for the better. For example, a pit named Maverick surprised his owner when he displayed such a loveable personality.
Maverick’s owner, Shanon, didn’t intend to adopt him at first. However, when her daughters found out that he was available for adoption, they begged her to get the dog. Shanon obliged, and that was the start of their great friendship with an amazing dog.
Maverick isn’t a high-maintenance dog. He’s content with sitting on the couch and observing things around him. Yet even when he’s lazing around, he knows when someone is feeling down, and he’ll give them physical affection.
The pit bull might seem intimidating at first glance, but Maverick is just a silly dog. He is easily spooked by many things and would often run to Shanon when he is scared. Furthermore, he’s never shown any signs of aggression toward his family.
Shanon and her husband have different interactions with Maverick. Her interactions with the dog center around emotional support. On the other hand, the husband and Maverick’s day-to-day activities revolve around goofy antics.
If there’s one thing that Maverick loves doing aside from lazing about, it’s playing with a ball. He usually has a tennis ball in his mouth. If people want to play with him, they would just dangle the ball in front of him, and he will be at full attention.
Due to Maverick’s great observation skills, he’s memorized when each member of the family is available to play with. He ensures that he’s always entertaining someone throughout the day. Moreover, his owner’s daughters are his favorite people to hang out with.
Within two years of having Maverick, he had proven himself the perfect dog for Shanon and her family. There are more years to come, and he will undoubtedly continue to bring joy to them. This makes Shanon glad that she listened to her daughters when they met Maverick.
