Bill and Krista are a dog-loving couple who lives on a large property in Dorchester. They own two canines who love to run around in their backyard, which is next to a vast wooded area.
One day, while looking out his window, Bill saw a very emaciated dog walking by the edge of the woods. The stray canine looked very pitiful as he slowly staggered around the area. His frail frame perfectly showed the sorry state his life was in.
Bill immediately called out to his wife and showed her the sick-looking dog.
Immediate care
The kind couple saw the pooch walking inside the woods, so they immediately called a rescue group to help him. They know that the dog wouldn’t last long on his own. Fortunately, the rescuers didn’t take long to find the canine. They immediately rushed him to a clinic.
Bill and his wife followed the rescuers as they were worried the dog might not survive. Krista had already fallen in love with the poor pooch, who she named Billy. She had decided to foster the sick animal and nurse him back to health.
Strong spirit
For the next several days, Billy was given round-the-clock care. Bill and Krista came back regularly, and they were astonished by the dog’s strong spirit. He was getting better each day. But his vet bills were skyrocketing.
The couple started a fundraiser for Billy, and people responded right away. The funds started coming in, and they soon took the dog out of the clinic and took him home.
Krista intended to foster the dog until he was healthy enough to transfer to his forever home. But she and Billy developed a strong bond, and she couldn’t bear to see the pooch go. So after talking with her husband, they decided to adopt him formally.
Billy was already feeling right at home and loving every minute of his new life.
