There are countless dogs out there that need a loving forever home. Many of these dogs are currently living in shelters and they’re waiting for someone to adopt them. Thankfully, many people who want to adopt a dog are now looking at adopting rescue dogs instead of buying straight from breeders or pet shops.
A woman named Lauren Smith Greeno is a dedicated animal rescuer. She usually volunteers in shelters and even fosters some of the dogs in need until they find their forever home. Lauren even adopted three rescue dogs and gives them unconditional love.
While looking for another dog to foster, Lauren came across a sad picture of a dog named Ginnie. Ginnie was featured on Charlie’s Crusaders Pet Rescue social media page and Lauren felt something in her that urged her to apply to foster Ginnie.
Ginnie had been stuck in the shelter for six months and nobody wanted to adopt her. Although Ginnie had a home before, she was treated poorly, which was the reason why she was taken away by rescuers and placed in a shelter. When Lauren learned about Ginnie’s story, she emailed the rescue organization right away that she was willing to foster Ginnie and potentially adopt her.
Ginnie ended up in Lauren’s home after a week and she was so glad that she decided to foster Ginnie. Ginnie proved to be a very loving dog who loves to snuggle and give kisses. All Ginnie wanted was a family to give her love. Of course, Lauren immediately became smitten with Ginnie and she didn’t even have to think twice about making Ginnie a permanent part of her family.
Before Lauren adopted Ginnie, Ginnie never knew what a soft bed felt like and she never had any dog toys to play with.
